The transfer portal accelerationism is upon us. The offseason has been marked by lawsuits, last minute decommitments, and much hand wringing about The State of the Game. So week 0 arrives with even more uncertainty than ever. When teams can completely overhaul themselves over a single summer it’s hard to know what you’re gonna see. Definitely more football though.

NC State @ Virginia - 2 PM CT - In the settling dust of the big realignment that came out of the collapse of the PAC, the ACC finds itself firmly in the second tier of the power conferences, which I guess is why they have to play Week 0. Vegas considers Miami to be the clear conference frontrunner but after them the field widens quickly, UVA and NC State are used to playing spoiler, but finding themselves with a weaker than usual schedule (no Miami or Clemson for either of them in 2026) they are entertaining preseason dreams of being the next dark horse in a conference that’s been up for grabs recently.
